This is Trang...

Beautiful, noisy, sweet tea drinking, hard to understand the accent, southern Thailand town. Rich in culture. Very few westerners. Not at all set up for us. Very few Thais speak English down here. Good place to learn to speak Thai.





By the way, the town is still cut off. Morning I go explore. Nah, no way. Maybe OK in a humvee. Big river across the road. What do you save first? I think precious family belongings, cash, precious stuff, paperwork, photos...

Then the TV if you can carry it. And then the motorbikes. Forget about the rest.

I visit a farang friend. Living with him and his Thai wife is a family. They have a 2 storey home. Floods came quickly. They put everything upstairs, second floor. Gotta be ok, right?

Wrong. Water creeps up to second floor. Got to get everything out of house real fast. Scarey stuff. My heart goes out to them. We need boats down her. :-)
